Sometime during the 1970’s, we suspect 1977 the traditional Blue and White Hoops changed as it was felt after nearly 80 years the hoops were more reflective of a rugby shirt than a running shirt and was replaced by two vertical blue lines on a plain white vest and a large ‘D’ was added. These vests remained the same until 2015 when the vests were tweaked slightly, removing the letter D and having the full name of the running club in the centre of the vest. In 2018 Paul Cook introduced a new badge which includes the Joseph Pease statue and town clock as well as including the brick train which is associated to the town’s railway history. The new club badge shape is also the shape of the DL postcode area and includes the club motto and two blue stripes.
